Automobile summer 2011
The opening event for the "Automobile summer" took place in Stuttgart. The visitors were able to inform themselves, in Losberger tents, about the history and the future of the automobile. The opening event, held this year in Baden-Württemberg, was the starting signal for over 300 celebrations and events which are taking place in connection with the 125th birthday of the automobile.
During this weekend, vehicles were on display in the inner courtyard and on the entire square of the "Neues Schloss" (new castle) in the heart of Stuttgart, the capital of Baden-Württemberg. 125 vehicles allowed the visitors to experience the history of automobile development, and they saw a very wide range of vehicle types in addition to old and new models of prominent automobile manufacturers in Baden-Württemberg.
The technology and innovations exhibition held around the "Jubiläumssäule" and the "Schlossplatzbrunnen" fountain was an additional highlight, with extremely interesting insights into the future development of transport. To achieve this, Losberger had erected numerous theme tents with more than 1,000 square metres of exhibition space.
At the same time as the innovation exhibition, the Stuttgart "City-Initiative" organised the ninth successful open air "S-City Mobil" automobile show in the "Königstraße", with over 20 makes of cars and more than 170 new vehicles.
